I’m Felipe Barba, a licensed physiotherapist in Barcelona and certified personal trainer, based in Sarrià.
For years I worked at Teknon Medical Center, and I’ve rehabilitated athletes from the Chilean Olympic Committee and the Chilean national handball team, as well as everyday clients dealing with shoulder pain, back problems and post-surgical recovery.
What makes my practice different is simple: I don’t stop at making the pain go away. Most injuries come back because the tissue was never loaded properly again. As both a physiotherapist and a strength coach, I take you all the way — from the first assessment to the moment you’re back on the court, in the gym, or lifting your kids without thinking about it.
Sessions in English and Spanish.
How I Work: Treatment and Training in One Place
Most people with an injury end up split between two professionals. A physiotherapist treats the pain. Months later, a trainer builds the strength back — usually without knowing what the injury was.
That gap is where re-injury happens. In my practice there is no gap.
01
Assessment
A full movement and biomechanical evaluation. We find the source of the problem, not just where it hurts. Shoulder pain often starts at the thoracic spine; knee pain often starts at the hip.
02
Restore Mobility
Manual therapy, joint mobilisation and targeted soft tissue work to get range of motion back and calm the pain down.
03
Rebuild Strength
This is the phase most rehab skips. Progressive loading, built around your specific injury, so the tissue becomes genuinely resilient instead of just pain-free.
04
Return to Sport
Sport-specific work until you can do what you actually want to do — padel, hockey, running, lifting — with confidence rather than caution.
Every plan is built for one person. There is no protocol I apply to everybody, because no two shoulders, schedules or goals are the same.
What I Treat
Shoulder
Frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, impingement, post-surgical recovery.
Lower Back
Chronic low back pain, disc issues, scoliosis, training safely with a sensitive back.
Knee
Ligament and meniscus rehab, patellofemoral pain, return to running.
Tendinopathies
Achilles, patellar, tennis and golfer’s elbow.
Padel & Hockey
The two most common sports I see in Sarrià and the surrounding clubs.
Post-Operative
Structured return from surgery back to full training.
Client Results
Frozen shoulder — from considering surgery to doing pull-ups
Javier came in with a frozen shoulder that had severely limited his mobility and daily life. Over six months we worked through mobility restoration and then progressive loading. Today he’s doing chin-ups and lifting weights again.
“Before starting therapy with him, I was in constant pain and even considering surgery as my only option. Today, I’m doing chin-ups, lifting weights again, and most importantly—believing in a full recovery without surgery.” — Javier de Vega Ruiz
Shoulder injury — back to sport with confidence
Fernando came to me with a shoulder injury and one clear goal: to train again without worrying about it. We combined hands-on physiotherapy with a strength programme built specifically around the shoulder.
“He knows a lot about sports and physiotherapy, the perfect combination if you have an injury and want to return to training or simply return to a normal life without having to worry.” — Fernando Moliner Manchón

Do You Need a Physiotherapist or a Personal Trainer?
It’s the question I get most, and the honest answer is that the line is blurrier than people think.
See a physiotherapist if you’re in pain, you’ve had a recent injury, you’re coming out of surgery, or something hurts every time you do a specific movement.
See a personal trainer if you’re pain-free and want to get stronger, fitter or leaner.
But if you’re in the middle — the pain is mostly gone but you don’t trust the shoulder, or you want to train and you’ve got a back that flares up — you need both. That’s exactly the space I work in, and it’s why most of my clients come to me: they were tired of being handed from one professional to another.
And if you are not in Barcelona, that middle ground is exactly what Longevity Coaching was built for: the same approach, delivered online, through a platform I built so I can actually see what your training is doing to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you speak English?
Yes. All sessions can be conducted entirely in English or Spanish.
Where are you based?
My private studio is on Carrer Major de Sarrià, in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Barcelona.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. You can book a physiotherapy session directly.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the injury, but most people start seeing meaningful change within the first few sessions. At the initial assessment I’ll give you a realistic estimate rather than an open-ended plan.
Can we combine physiotherapy and training in the same session?
Yes, and for many clients that’s the most effective approach — treatment first, then loading work in the same visit.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, for follow-up, programming and clients outside Barcelona.
How much does it cost?
Physiotherapy sessions are 70€, with session packs available at a reduced rate.
